Skilled Nursing

Through our skilled nursing home and assisted living communities in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, Windsor House provides a wide array of services and a caring staff dedicated to meeting each resident's individual needs. Along with our compassionate staff, a medical director works with residents' personal physicians to collaborate and oversee their health care issues. Just as important as the daily physical and medical needs of the residents are their social, spiritual and recreational activity needs.

Who will benefit from a skilled nursing community?

When a family member is unable to provide the necessary care for a loved one, the responsible decision is to choose a setting where that individual’s unique needs can be met. A skilled nursing community is staffed with compassionate and knowledgeable professionals who truly value the individuality and integrity of each resident for whom they care. The following factors may help determine if a loved one will benefit from skilled nursing care.

  • He or she had a recent hospital procedure and requires additional care before returning home
  • He or she had a recent hospital procedure and requires physical, speech and/or occupational therapy before returning home.
  • He or she requires daily assistance with eating, dressing and self-care
  • He or she forgets to take medication or overmedicates
  • He or she behaves in ways that could cause harm or risk of injury
  • He or she wanders away from home or experiences frequent signs of memory loss

Whether for an ongoing health issue or an acute post-operative need, a Windsor House is the ideal choice for individual needs. Our goal is always to provide the highest levels of skilled and compassionate care during a stay, so our residents can look forward to returning home or transitioning to a new home as quickly as possible.

Short-term Care

For short-term stays, our goal is simple – we want to help you become stronger, healthier and on the right path to your next level of care! As your transitional care partner, we believe in providing  care that starts from the moment you are admitted. You will discover that our skilled nursing communities offer on-site therapy and rehabilitation, allowing you to focus on regaining lost strength, restoring normal range of motion and increasing independence when possible. Within your first 24-hours, you’ll be greeted by our on-site therapy team to discuss your needs and recovery goals. Having therapy at the facility allows you to concentrate solely on regaining lost strength, restoring normal range of motion and increasing your overall independence. Whether you require specialized care, such as wound care management, tracheostomy care or stroke recovery care, our facilities have all the resources to help you recover and return home as quickly as possible.

Long-term Care (LTC)

In addition to providing restorative short-term therapy, we also offer long-term care for residents who need 24/7 monitoring and medical support. Residents can be confident knowing they have assistance with daily activities such as bathing, getting dressed or eating and access to a bedside emergency call button. Our long-term care services offer much more than just compassionate care. We strive to create a comfortable and engaging community with many of the comforts of home.

Some of the many services provided at our skilled nursing facilities are:

  • Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapies
  • Podiatry Care
  • Laboratory, X-ray & Pharmaceutical Services
  • Vision & Audiology Care
  • Psychological Services
  • Dental Care

In addition, our social services department acts as advocates for residents, facilitating solutions and assisting them and their families with the transition and stay in long-term care.

Windsor House's nutrition services department prepares and serves three wholesome and appetizing meals daily and can accommodate special nutritional concerns, as well as the personal preferences of residents.
